Compilation of 100 verses for all occasions

“100 Verses For Hand Crafted Greeting Cards – Volume I” has proved a hit with greeting card makers throughout the UK, and sales are looking set to increase over Christmas and into 2008.

The book, written and self-published by Carolyn Leadbetter through her company Versatile Verses in June this year, is a compilation of 100 verses for most, if not all, occasions throughout the year. It includes numerous Age Birthdays, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Birth of Baby, Holy Communion, Christening, Christmas and much more. It comes complete with a PDF copy of the book on CD to enable easy copying and pasting of the verses onto card inserts.

Carolyn has been a verse writer for several years, and starting writing personalised verses for best man speeches and other family events: “They always went down really well, and I received a lot of positive feedback. I tried other ways of setting up a business doing my verse writing, but found I didn’t have much time around my two young children. I knew of a few people who ran their own companies making hand crafted greeting cards, but didn’t have verses to put in them, and came up with the idea of writing a book as a resource.”

Initially, 1500 copies of the book and cd were printed (FOXE Graphics Ltd), and in 6 months these have already sold out. Carolyn said: “I’m surprised at how quickly the books have sold and already have orders waiting for when the second print run arrives next week. The response has been excellent.”
