Vintage Ladybird Prints for Dad
(19/05/2008)
Originally published in 1915 by printers Wills and Hepworth, millions of children the world over have learnt to read with Ladybird Books. The images available from the Ladybird Archive provide an excellent record of British social history.
Archive images depicting the idealised life and pursuits of a man living in the 1950’s-1970’s are now available to buy for Father’s Day from www.ladybirdprints.com. Choose from the vertigo inducing, tightrope walker of Danger Men, or the split-graphics front cover of How it Works: The Computer to an idealised portrait of family life complete with daddy dressed down for DIY in v-neck sweater, shirt and slacks.
The resulting selections of retro images are available to purchase in six different sizes of photographic print (in gloss or satin finishes), on art paper and six different sizes of canvas. Each product is made to order and dispatched directly to the purchaser, typically within 2-3 days. Sizes range from 8x6 inch prints to canvases of 1.25m.
The images are available in different sizes and finishes, with prices starting at £7.50 for prints and £40.00 for canvases.
