Retro toys for Christmas

It will be the ‘retro’ toys that win out this Christmas according to Madmolly. Katherine Turner, founder and owner of Madmolly, believes two toys in particular will be very popular; tepees and pedal cars.

Katherine explains why the tepees are selling so well: “It’s clear that the fascination for tepees and a land of make-believe continues to be very strong. The cowboy tepee is selling very well, but we’re getting lots of interest in the new, fairy teepee as the girls get in on the act.

“With high quality, traditional fabrics, the tepees are also appealing to people who want toys that not only inspire children, but also look beautiful.”

The pedal car is predicted to be another magical feature of Christmas mornings. Katherine explains: “I’ve had a lot of enquiries about these fabulous pedal car. There’s a red, metal fire engine with bell and ladder as well as a pink princess pedal car. Both cars are getting lots of interest as they are particularly good value.”

Katherine herself is passionate about the toys she selects for her website: “I do think that in an age of computer-game domination, it’s reassuring to see that simple, well-made toys that encourage our children to move off the sofa and use their imaginations are proving so popular.”
