Gifts products from Thailand continue to do well in the global marketplace

Gifts and home decorative industries from Thailand are confident in their competitive edges. The country is determined to excel in the global marketplace through quality, design and integrity. These features will be reaffirmed at the Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair (BIG+BIH) on 13-18 October 2009.

The Department of Export Promotion, the organizer of BIG+BIH, will highlight the best of gifts, premiums, home decorative items, artificial flowers and plants, handicrafts, household items, spa products, home textiles, toys, stationery, and other design objects from almost 700 reputable exhibitors on the 45,000 square meter fairground at the region's design capital city.

Mr. Rachane Potjanasuntorn, Director General of the Department of Export Promotion stated “Lifestyle products from Thailand continue to do well in the global marketplace due to the designs which are both pleasing to the eyes and practical. We are active in researching the trends in different cultures and lifestyles, and design our products to serve each consumer group. We also emphasize product safety to ensure that all international safety standards are met while being environmentally respectable.”

“We are determined to make Thailand a manufacturing and design hub in Asia for lifestyle product industries. And BIG+BIH will be the stage to present our strengths to the world's leading buyers.” He added.

The prominent duo design event is returning for the 28th time with a range of latest product collections, cutting-edge prototypes, and innovative design drawings for visionary buyers. In addition, there will be inspiring exhibitions within the fairs such as BIG Toy Design 2009, and other unique design exhibitions. Design Hall which has always been the favorite section of the
fairs will also carry practical aesthetic lifestyle products for all types of living space.

BIG+BIH October 2009 will open exclusively for trade discussions from 13-16 October, before allowing the general public to visit their favorite fairs on the 17th and 18th of October. Entrance to the fairs is free of charge.
