TomTom Start is the new sat nav for people who believe they prefer maps
(17/11/2009)
TomTom Start new sat nav is really easy to use, even if you're 'tech averse'. No installation is required - you just 'plug and go', with all the main menu items on one screen.
Tap in the destination address and it plans the fastest route, or you can go via thousands of pre-installed places like stations, hotels, zoos and cash dispensers. It tells you when you'll arrive, warns you if you're speeding and alerts you to safety cameras. The 'help' feature has the phone numbers and directions for the nearest emergency services.
Available in six cool colours - red, blue, green, purple, yellow and orange - it's slim enough to fit into your pocket or handbag. You can also download different start up screens and fun voices for free.
The TomTom Start UK/Ireland in black is priced £119.99 (SRP) whilst the TomTom Start Europe, which also comes in white, is £139.99. The changeable covers (StartSkins) cost £14.99 each, including a colour co-ordinated pouch.
Available from Halfords, Comet, Currys.
