Consumers are a lot more green aware this year with several of their Christmas tree gifts ranges selling out in early December. The company is hoping that UK consumers make further steps to save the planet such as recycling their wrapping paper and of course buying a living tree.

Founder and Director of Tree2mydoor, Gareth Mitchell said: “We’re not asking for Santa to go back to his green suit but we would like people to think about the planet this Christmas. It really is the little things that will make all the difference such as recycling your cards and perhaps reusing old ones for gift tags.

“Sending a tree as a gift at Christmas has a massive positive effect on the environment because it will grow for years and absorb lots of CO2 whilst giving a green alternative to common manufactured Christmas gifts with massive carbon footprints. Most of our trees are grown here in the UK which means they do not have far to travel before arriving at doors all around the country.

“I set up Tree2mydoor after buying my parents apple trees, plum trees and pear trees for Christmas back in 2000. They were so pleased that I gave them fruit trees for unique Christmas gifts that I thought this would be a great idea for a new eco friendly gift business that sold trees as gifts.

“It has been very challenging growing Tree2mydoor at first because most consumers were not so green minded. I am glad to say that my business is booming now because the UK is becoming more focused on living sustainably and buying gifts that are eco friendly and long lasting.”

Gareth Mitchell concluded: “Tree2mydoor is an online gift company that specialises in sending trees as gifts to recipients nationwide. Tree gifts range from UK native tree species to Italian grown topiary trees, citrus trees for conservatories, truffle trees and garden fruit trees. In addition the Dedicate a Tree gift pack is the perfect gift for someone who has everything and cares about the future of the planet. So whether you want to help save rare trees in Ecuador, restore the monkey puzzle tree forest in Chile or save the tropical Belize rain forest tree2mydoor can help and 100% of proceeds will go to this cause.”

Prices range from £9.99 for a wildflower seed Love in a Bag to £24.50 for a native tree gift and £49.99 for a citrus tree gift.
