Bodlon introduces range of Welsh patriotic ceramics
(21/04/2010)
Bodlon have introduce their exclusive range of patriotic ceramics. Designed by well-known ceramicist, Keith Brymer-Jones, under the guidance of Bodlon owner and Welsh foodie enthusiast, Nia Evans, the range – including 'cawl' and sugar bowls, tea and coffee cups as well as a milk jug - shows just how popular Welsh themed ceramics and home accessories have become.
Taking Brymer Jones' existing English line of ceramics and tailoring the designs to the Welsh market was a natural step in the expansion of Bodlon's contemporary and exclusive range of homewares. 'No longer is Wales thought of as being unstylish,' explains Nia who came up with the idea of the Welsh language adapations having been a huge fan of Keith's English ceramics range for some time. 'From the likes of Melin Tregwynt and Ty Nant water to furniture designer, Angela Gidden and hugely publicised hotels such as St David's Spa, Wales has become synonymous with high quality style and I think this is why we receive orders from around the UK. The Welsh inscribed ceramics are a great addition to the Bodlon collection and compliment our existing lines of linen, enamel storage and food gifts wonderfully.'
Made from white, glazed porcelain, the Welsh inscriptions range includes the following items: 'Cawl' (soup) bowl, £8.50; 'Te' (tea) mug, £8.50; 'Coffi' (coffee) mug, £9; 'Llaeth' (milk) jug, £8.50 and 'Siwgr' (sugar) bowl, £6.00.
All items in the range are dishwasher safe and can be ordered online from Bodlon. Soon to launch egg cups and storage jars (with cork lids) will also be available to purchase online.
